Can I have some opinions please?

I'm trying to sell my 944 turbo (www.pistonheads.com/sales/52283.htm), and the responses have been very slow. I've had a few enquiry emails from PH, but no viewings directly from this site, although I have had others from other sources, notably Auto Trader.

Would you kind people mind looking at the ad for a few minutes and telling me if it would float your boat (if you were after a 944T), and, crucially, whether the price is competitive. What's missing from the ad? Does it look like a good car for the price?

I would prefer to sell through PH, if not it would be through Auto Trader, Ebay, etc, but these all bring their own set of hassles, which I can do without. We are getting an extension over the garage in July, so the car needs to be gone by that stage. I don't want to put it in storage, I need to SELL!

Thanks for your opinions.

Only a suggestion and please dont take this the wrong way, but maybe you are giving too much info on the car. When I sell a car I tend to give the essential info to get someone interested and invite them along to look at the car and the go into detail, seems to work for me.

This is what stumps me - at that price it IS a bargain, and it's good, honest car. But absolutely no takers. Have I put in some sort of subliminal message that it's a shed??? Is it priced *too* low - are people going to assume that there must be some hidden issues with the car?

I suspect that the celebrity chef first owner may be putting off some people!

Seriously though, it seems a great well sorted car and a good value. What about increasing the price? (I jest not)

To be honest the ad reads like the car has just been trashed about the place. (Even needed engine replacing). Too much detail on tuning etc. Not even a pic or desciption of interior. As a punter I'd be likely to give it a wide berth unless I wanted a track car.
Even so, unless body got some rust and interior shabby, looks like very good value to me.

Agrred; downplay the tuning stuff and just highlight the key service points (annual services, belts, brakes etc).

Looks like a lot of fun, but it is a 21 year old car in a lot of folk's eyes....

The pics are pretty poor:

soft with low contrast and blown highlights

bits cut off and extraneous stuff in the background

Damn. I had no idea you could get a 944 Turbo this cheap. I think the posts above already have it covered:

- The price is too low
- Photos are poor (David Bailey or not). None are even in focus
- Possibly too much info - this combined with the low price makes it sound worse than I bet it is

I still can't believe it is that cheap though...!

Too Cheap? I would suggest that some people would think that a 944T for that money is a shed! A bit less info and £4.5K??
