...so there I was casually cruising northbound on the M40 during the bank holiday weekend in lane 3 when I notice what looks like a burgundy 993 approaching rapidly in my rear view mirror. of course i do the right thing and pull into lane two to wave the driver on. as soon as said vehicle pulls past my amazon green 964 i realise that this is no 993. in fact, its a 959 (or a copy). gobsmacked i pull back into lane 3 and proceed in convoy with the 959... i flash him and he raises his hand in acknowledgement. we cruise along in lane 3 until he peels of at junction 9... we salute each other and i carry on north. it was a great moment and one which ill remember fondly over the years.... (anyone got a tissue?). no question in my mind why i love this marque.

Dirty, rotten lanehogs the both of you.

Still, not every day you see a 959. Sweet.

Why only a 944? They are fantastic cars that will still give a modern day sports car a good run for its money....

Absolutely, my 944 turbo would give almost anything a run for it's money, but it's not a 993, doesn't mean I don't like it any less than a newer model, but it's not as shiny and new

On the day I sold my 968 I got waved to by a 928 driver and shock horror a Boxster driver, first wave ever. Typical that it was on my last day with the car.

Be it a 924 or a 959 a Porsche is still a Porsche and its not until you are with out one that you realise how special they are cry

Wise words. I started less tham 18 months ago with an S2. I've now got a 964 C4 and can't see myself never owning a Porsche for the forseeable future.

I have dallied with lots of cars, but find myself returning to bmw (for family cars) and porsche for my 'fun' cars. Must be something in my water - mind you, father was german. hehe
