A few bubbles of rust have appeared on the inset roof tracks of my '02 996, so took it to the local OPC to arrange repair under the corrosion section of the 10 year bodywork warranty. They sratched their heads, 'shouldn't happen, will get repaired etc' took some photos and sent to Reading for approval.

Response.....not covered by warranty! As the roof tracks are removable, so not considered as part of the bodywork?confused

Does this imply doors, bonnet etc not covered?
Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.

any chance you can post the pics?

is it on the trim or the body shell?

Will post pics later. The rust is on the narrow track only, nothing on the body either adjacent or elsewhere.

sounds like it's painted aluminium which will always react with paint
