Hey guys,

Got a rather nasty stone-chip on my front window and as the perfectionist I am it needs to be changed. Does anyone know how much it is to change? Don't think my insurance will cover it...
Thanks!

996 GT3 ?

If so it would be around the £280 plus seal at £14 plus fitting £80 +/- total of

£374 plus VAT but get someone who has done these before because if the fit it incorrectley you are going to have endless squeeks and rattles from the screen.

Assuming you have fully comp insurance I'd be suprised if it wasn't covered....

My 996 picked up a chip that wasn't a structural problem, wasn't in the driver's field of view and wouldn't have caused an MOT failure. Anyway, off I went to AutoGlass who said they'd give it a go and tried their chemical mystery on it which, after about an hour's work, resulted in a repaired screen and no charge to me. Same screen then developed a crack a few days later from the repaired chip, so, back to AutoGlass who changed the screen - £60 to me (standard windscreen excess on my policy).
