Morning folks,

My GT3 needs a bit of work before I head off on the road trip and i'm wondering if there's somewhere in the North East (Near Newcastle) that people would recommend. (Access to Porsche specialists and race tracks is one of the few areas I envy you southerners..)

I need (in order of wallet scareability)

1. Two new rear boots (could get them put on most tyre shops though)
2. New rear alloy (could order one online and get the tyre shop to do it)
3. Annual service (would only get this done if it's a good indy - OPC otherwise)
4. Geo Setup (never had it done and want to get it checked out)
5. Renew warranty (895 now isn't it?)
6. New clutch (ouch)

Cheers,

Chris

Might be a bit too far for you but I (and a fair few other PHers) would definitely recommend Strasse in Leeds.

Easy train journey back or they do a collect service.

Thanks for the recommendation. i'll add them to my list of options if I can't find somewhere to do it close by. Looking on the internet (and here) it seems my best choices if I do have to take it somewhere a fair way away are:

Specialist cars Malton
Hartech in Bolton
(and now) Strasse in Leeds (Speaking to Dave Forrest!)...

Although not on your doorstep, I've been very pleased with Redline Racing in Thornaby on Teesside, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

As well as maintenance for road cars, they do race prep so will be able to do your geo set up.

Their website details their experience and expertise.

They have a loan car.

I can second this.

Had my geo setup recently by Simon at Redline and its now a whole new car... check out their website www.rlracing.co.uk they certainly know what they're doing.

Redline seem to be in the lead at the moment then. Thanks for the heads up.

If I do go to them I must try to avoid the temptation of getting them to set it up for track work and immediately get stuck trying to get on the ferry!

Are you going on the Hull-Rotterdam ferry?? If so, you will have no spolier issues.

I can vouch for Specialist Cars in Malton having had a lot of work done on my 928 by them, I was always pleased with the work they did although they aren't cheap but then again you get what you pay for.

Nope, the Newcastle to Amsterdam one. Hope it's a similar loading option to the hull one if that's no problem...
