Welcome to Pistonheads.
Enjoy the car, possibly you might post some pictures to let people know what`s involved in painting a car and dispel some of the myths surrounding this somewhat black art. where is the time spent, why can`t you just paint the scratch, what are common paint defects and how do the occur ( sinkage, micro-blisters, nibs, silicons, cracking, fading, crazing, etc).
All the best.

Should that include explaining about the huge paint runs and brush marks on my race car? Not to mention the four (count 'em) different shades of red (all from the last year) and three of yellow...........
I think I can do somthing for fellow PH'ers.
as for paint defects there's 101 different reasons for different problems the best solution is to use the best materials and a supplier that gives the best back up, 9/10 it's down to previous paint that soferns under bake which can cause reactions and miro blisters.

I've been trying to work out how to post some pics can you help me.
Bloody hell, dude comes on, says he`s into cars - so much so that he`s got his own bodyshop & not only that he`s bought a 911 as a bit of a project. You lot shoot the poor sod down in flames.
Whatever happened to welcome on board buddy, how did you get into cars / painting, it`ll be good to have a bit of inside info on bodywork etc, etc.
I haven`t got a clue if the chap`s any good or if he knows his onions but why don`t we give him the benefit of the doubt, at least until he gets his posts into double figures.
He hasn`t come on here and said hello I paint cars, this is my number & if you want any work doing call me. He`s just bought a f*cking Porsche. Kind of makes him a member in my book.
Don`t be so hard on someone who is open about who they are & what they do for a living etc. He`s even got a real name that he`s happy to use.
Once again welcome on board Bob. Don`t worry too much about the spelling, no one else does (although one of my computers has started to spell check all my posts on here !).
To post photos firstly you need to load them onto a server (possibly the same one that hosts your website or one of the free internet photo hosts.
Then you type
[pic] http ://www . websiteaddress/picturename.jpg [/pic]
(without any gaps) and your piccy should appear in your post. Make sure you reduce the picture down to a sensible size so it doesn`t take too long to download, 25cm as a starting point.
Hope that helps. The format codes link on the left when you post a resonse helps you to change the size of your text, post website links, photos etc.
