I am looking at upgrading to a FVD replacement DME - sale price 2495 Euros, they are offering a complete unit including software (490PS) I liked this idea as you keep your stock DME if anything go's pear shaped, just wondering if anyone else has tried one and is it plug and play?.

I think they are good - I almost got a kit for a 993tt but went another way in the end.

Their stuff is German TUV approved and has a good reputation from what I've read - a lot of stuff on rennlist.

I hear RS Tuning used to suppply them with ECU software so an excellent source - not sure if it still happens like that.

Do you have a 996tt?

Yes it's a 2003 996 TT, I live in the middle east, the second hand porsches as fairly cheap to buy,run and insure here (40% cheaper than the UK) I saw a really nice 993 TT which is still my favourite Porshce to date, the car was a 1998 993 TT with 996 turbos upgraded ECU - 550 bhp 18" LM'S - Zenith Blue with only 16000 Km's on it, full carbon interior and unmarked body/paint, with out a doubt the best looking car I've ever seen - FAT!!!. The only problem being the temperature over here tops 50 Degrees C in the summer which I thought would cause problems with the air cooled unit in the 993TT - this is the reason I went for the water cooled 996 TT, still very happy with the car - Only I've got used to the power and I want more!!!. Once I move back to Scotland I will go for the 993.
