Bl**dy h*ll. I could earn a way lot more than £895 in the time it would take me to do that (and I _do_ know which end to hold a spanner)! Makes me even more glad i got the warrantee !

So you didn't spit your Cornflakes then?

I do have a new name in mind, but it's a bigger secret than Bliars leaving date for now...

Me too. But I'm stragely attracted to retaining money, so there's always the temptation to try anything that isn't a service stamp myself. I really should try to get over this affliction.

I woudn't want to do a job like that myself (I've always had it done labour-free with a £425 all-in clutch job) but an excellent detailed guide.

He seems multi-talented too - he can turn clutch bolts into a musical instrument - a mechanic, magician & musician all in one bow

As you can see the pressure plate is bolted down by 6 hex bolts. Slowly remove those and viola you have removed your clutch.

Well I'm just off to practise my gynaecological skills again in a minute trying to get to a pesky oil leak that's about as accessible as the virgin Mary's hymen...

On the Renntech site a bloke was quoted $900 to fix an oil leak that took me ten minutes to fix using some Hylomar I already had in the garage.

I've just "earnt" about £350 by changing the brakes myself. FWIW Porsche brakes are the easiest I've ever worked on yes

Makes you wonder where they get their times from. Changing a set of pads, or even pads and discs, shouldn't take more than 1-2 hours. Probably less than an hour if everything is nice and free.

Only takes about thirty mins per side to do discs and pads working in a cramped single garage with hand tools.
