Trying to find a set of Michelin Pilot Sports is proving difficult. One fitter referred to them as "rocking horse sh1t" while another quoted a manufacturing date of "some time in June". But guess who could get them. By Tuesday. Yep, my friendly local OPC. Oh yes, nearly forgot. The tyres will cost an extra £100 per corner. Grrr. Bridgestones it is then.

Not sure where you are in the country but I got some (albeit for a Clio 172) from my local chap at Car Solutions in Lincoln..... took him 2 hours to find 'em... and at a good price

For Michelins (specifically) try Pro Tyre Motorsport in Stoke (suppliers/support for Club Champioship & Open) or Costco.

Thanks for the prompt replies, guys, but i'm in London and one of the rears is presently held together with the Porsche Tyre Weld stuff, so a journey to Stoke, Lincoln or Winchester isn't really an option. Wembley Tyres can get me the Bridgestones though. Anyone got anything to say about them - the bloke I spoke to seemed to know a fair bit about 911s.

Call Event Mobiel Tyres.

They come to you and are very good, price and care-wise.

Hi - if you're in London try these guys - www.jazweb.co.uk/. Lots of people on PH rate them. I don't have direct experience of them but I'll be using them next.
Cheers

Well, they damaged all four of my alloys when I used them a couple of years ago. They did pay for a cheap refurb (front face only) but it was alot of hassle when all I wanted was simply four tyres fitted for an agreed price.

My advice is find a proper tyre fitter with the latest equipment designed to protect wheel rims and are used to dealing with wide rims.

This is worth a look as well:

www.tyres-online.co.uk/

If you go for the 'fitted' option they arrange a local chap to come to you, if not you sort it yourself with a local fitter, most will do it for a few £££ (inc legal disposal of old tyre)

I have had two sets from Costco, both Boxster and Cayenne

Here is the lakeside number if its any help 01708 865239 give em a call ?

I couldnt beat their price last time, and if they are not in stock they will check other branches (ie Chingford e4, on the north circ).

no association obviously!!

They may ask for a membership number before they'll quote though. Worth joining for £20 of course.

Thanks for this. They've got some Michelins coming in for me on Monday. Although bang goes my Michelin only suppling OPCs conspiracy theory.

Presumably the OPC is supplying 'N'rated tyres... Are the others?

A colleague has just had his tyres replaced at Hatfield OPC, they quoted him a silly price, he shopped around and they matched it. I nearly fell off my chair when he told me.
