Had my 997 for a year now and starting to consider options - either I keep the 997 for another year (and maybe put some more cash into it) or try something else - had another 997 before this one as well. The 996TT seems to be getting more and more popular based on these forums and have never heard anything bad said against them.

Given the current pricing its also a helluva lot of car for the money so very tempting. Also, can't really think of anything else - need an everyday car so GT3 is out, couldn't justify paying the money for a 997TT when it just looks like a tarted up 997C2S and after two years with a Porsche I can't see me buying anything else.

Would definitely want a manual X50 with an aerokit and preferably silver (personal choice) so when I saw this it started me seriously thinking:

www.911virgin.com/996ehb.htm

Without starting another childish slanging match about the merits of 911virgin, what do we think of this? If I sold privately or Henry was feeling generous I could be looking at a straight swap for my 997C2S.

Cheers - Erik

Eric

i cant answer your query about the merits of a trade in although as far as i am aware, Henry doesnt ever attempt to give his customers a fisting on trade in as OPCs do

the x50 is a fab car. ive had mine for a week now and i am still in awe - its a stunning bit of kit

im glad someone has come on here and say they liked silver. i love mine and having looked at an awful lot i can say the colour looks perfect on them

as for the actual car H has for sale, it looks nice. i personally would like a few more toys for my cash but thats just me

I have little doubt that if you climbed into an x50 you wouldnt be dissapointed.

best thing is to have a stroll over and bag a drive. chances are within a week the x50 will be yours

IIRC - This looks like a car being offered by a trader on behalf of a friend of his at £46k "must sell this week being px'ed" I could be wrong on this.

It does not have the Aerokit front spoiler, its wearing a colour coded standard one. Makes you wonder why, was the rear spoiler retro fitted? Was the Aerokit front damaged and replaced with a std one?

The rest of the spec is a little crap.

Bose and roof were standard equipment.
No heated seats
No rear parks
No aluminium gearshift / handbrake
No PCM (even though its crap compared to a decent aftermarket double din one)
No memory seats (I prefer sport seats anyway).

I would say this is a car to stay well clear of at that price. Also make sure you get it inspected and warranted. Just because its on Henry's used car lot is no guarantee of quality or condition, he'll sell anything for a big margin (I dont have an issue with this I am merely jealous how he does so much biz and makes so much money).
