Well the saga continues, as some of you know my clutch started to go a while ago so I got one ordered, well to be accurate I ordered it from a friend in the US as it works out much cheaper with the exchange rate at the moment.

So last night went to pick up a friend to drive down to sheffield to watch a concert, park up outside hers and she asks for the hood down, when i start the engine one thing strikes me, the sound of blowing exhaust.........Bugger. So anyway we get down to sheff no probs but the clutch is starting to slip now.

Enjoy the concert, and make our way back up, now the slip is noticeable, so taking it very gently, the exhaust blow is still there, I'm not a happy chappy, drop her off and trundle off home, park up outside, open door pocket lid to get house keys out, snap............... Yep the regulator for the lid has broken, fairly common fault but on top of everything else it really does finish it off for me.

So this morning go underneath, broken heat exchanger, what makes it worse is that this engine is probably only going to be in another year or so before it changes rather radically, so I am certainly not going to fit a new one, and a pair of heat exchangers finished on ebay about a week ago at harrogate which is not far away for £25 no bids! I'll leave you to imagine the language.

Good news is door bin just wants a new lid, so shouldn't cost much and it's not exactly urgent.

So now I am waiting for my clutch to arrive, need a new heat exchanger, and have a couple of daft annoying jobs to do.

On the positive side when it's done it will be like a new car again!

Probably seems as if I am moaning, fact is the car is 15 years old, I'd have to say the exhaust has done damn well to last this long really, and I must say on mainentance costs it really isn't bad, I suppose mainly because I do the work myself, however this one has come right at the worst time! So if anyone has a heat exchanger for 964 or a pair of 993 ones kicking around please let me know!

well i was considering adding a teaspoon to the exhaust to see if the nano particles would weld it back together?
