Collecting my new car at the weekend and having searched through loads of threads for potential issues my first question is - should I buy a DME relay and keep it in the glove box?

The stories of complete and sudden failures which can so easily be fixed suggest it's a wise thing to do.

Second question is where does it fit - is it under the passenger seat?

yes...get a spare...it's located at the back of the fuse box in the front boot. I used to take mine out as a security measure if I was leaving it anywhere for a prolonged period!

Thanks for the overwhelming vote there....

So next question - where to buy one?

Are the 19.99 ones on ebay any good or is it a visit to the OPC?

If anyone has any good sources in Berks/Surrey then please let me know.

got mine from Hatfield OPC, though I know some who went to www.design911.co.uk. Good indy parts stockist should be fine.

Thanks!

Unfortunately due to private plate transfers he doesn't have the log book back so pick-up has been delayed until he's got the doc's back. I don't want to be in that 'no mans land' where I've handed over money and his name is still on the V5.....

However - I'm hoping that next weekend will be good! party

Great looking Porsche - always liked silver - doesn't show the chips as badly as dark colours which keeps them looking fresh for years....

Thanks folks.

It's fab to drive, I can also see what you 911 guys talk about the engine noise - had the roof down yesterday and it just sounds beautiful biglaugh

The way the steering is alive and the whole chassis makes most other cars I've driven feel numb in comparison.
