Trying to get out of the Cayenne and back to a 911, as the Mrs has just got a new company car, which is bigger and can fit baby seats, etc.

So...i'm a little out of the scene. I should hopefully have around £45k to spend. Do i buy:-

1) Push the boat and get a 996 TT
2) Get a real decent low milleage standard 966 (i want 4WD only)
3) Get a not as great 966 C4S (Turbo bodied one)
4) I can't get a GT3 for pratcial reason and can't get a GT2 becuase i'll kill myself!
5) Get an Audi RS4 6 months old and forget the 911

I wish i could afford a 997, but even the basic C2 seems to be around £55k 2nd hand. And i would only want the S version, and ideally C4S.

Would be good to hear your thoughts.

Have missed the forum...would be good to get back on it...

Cheers.

Andrew,
Don't go for the C4S as your already negative about this model.
Or if your only following recent comments I'd highly recommend you try it.
Judge for yourself.

get a 996 turbo but if you cant find a decent one then go for a c4s as they are similar underneath to the standard 996 carrera 4 but has the turbo bodykit and the brakes from the turbo.

Sorry for the delayed response.

Answering the point at the top, i didn't mean the C4S was not so great a car, just not so great against the 996 TT. probably could have worded it bettersmile

With regards to the 4WD comments, i have owned Lotus's, TVR's, etc and driven 360's, etc. Driven very, very hard and never crashed. However, after i had my last 911, which was a C4, the 4WD gave me a comfort factor that i liked and appreciated, especially in the wet.

I have a 5 month old little boy and i think for my own safety, and because now i have to think about someone else other than myself, the 4WD is a better bet.

Although i never crashed, i have been seconds/inches away from (what could have been) very nasty crashes...maybe fatal.

I want the TT more than anything, just scared about buying such an old car, and ALL the turbo's i have seen for decent (low) money seem to be high mileage?

I've been out the scene for a while, so maybe i just haven't looked around enough?

Anyway, can't wait to get another 911 regardless...

Thanks for the replies.
