Just after a bit of advice I am thinking ....only thinking at this stage of selling my 968 sport pictures below and really would like a view on what it is worth ?

The car is a 95 sport with 75k on the clock with a full opc history (but needs a service the little one which I could have done)

It is fully stripped and resprayed inside with a full saftey devices weld in cage ( twin diagonal door bars / crusifix in the rear) which is also re sprayed in the same colour as the outside. It took 27 hours to Fit !!!

It has cobra evoloution seats Black with grey backs with 4 point harnesses

I guess the seats / harnesses / roll cage / interior respray cost about 4k not that I am expecting to get that back !!

The stickers on the car were only there to try to get some sponsership and peel off easily.

As you can see from the photos pretty good condition it had a minor bit of damage (bodywork only) rear driverside wing which has been fixed very well but not 100% probably about 95% but for a track car would be more than adequate !!

It has from memory 8 months tax and about 9 months mot runs great and would make a great track day car ( in fact it still will if I dont sell it !!)

so any ideas on value would be greatly received only selling due to too much work / other projects

Thanks
Phib

Need more info:

What suspension?
What brakes?
What work has been undertaken?
Are you running MO30 and/or the 220 LSD?
Any engine work?
Do you have a strut brace or adjustable top mounts?
When were the bushes replaced?
Air con?

And when was all the above done?

A relatively standard car that's been stripped and had a cage fitted will appeal to a very limited market. Do you still have the interior?

Hmmm, think it's a tricky one.

I think you've devalued it by stripping it and fitting the cage. And add that to the fact 968 prices are all over the place at present and I think you're better keeping it if you can.

I've just deleted what else I was going to say, as I decided it was rubbish. The way you'll sell it is to find someone that wants to build their own track car to their own spec. Find that person, and you may do ok. I'd guess it may have been £12k's worth as a low mileage completely standard car, with FPSH but that once had some panel damage. Find the right buyer, and you might still get that for it. If you don't find them - keep it.

It's unusual. Stripping it out and modifying it, and the accident damage, will limit interest - but it still has full OPC service history (not many 968s will have that).

I'd say £8k - ish.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys, I don't need to sell it but it is an option.

I converted the car for track days / potentially the porsche speed championships (which it is entered for this year) but unfortunatly work mainly has got in the way !!!!

I must admit I was thinking it was probably worth 12ish but i guess I need to find the right buyer who is looking for a track day toy.

I probably will keep it after investing the time and money in it and have some serious fun on the track if I ever get there !!!

It really is a great car, goes like stink and is great fun on the road so far

Thanks for the replys

It will have gone to whatever email address you have set as the default one when you registered on Pistonheads. Alternately, what's your address - I'll mail you directly.

I've seen lhd 968 CS go for £9k. On that basis, surely this car's worth less than £8k...assuming you'll find someone to buy it?

Why ? Worth less than a Lhd Club sport with (mega miles and poor condition assuming it was the same one I saw !!)

At 6k there was a 944 (which sold) with the same spec as my 968 but with 130k and not very much service history and not 100% condition.

To be honest I am not really that bothered, if its worth less than 8k (which i doubt) it will be staying for a very very long time, its a great car and great fun to drive just need to get it finished and out on the track next !!!

Time now to sell all the interior which is in mint condition in line with most of the rest of the car I wonder how much thats all worth ? (I don't need an answer to that one though)

Thanks
Phib

Because your car is nether one thing nor the other - the ropey CS will always have an intrinsic value as a CS. Your car is a stripped out roadcar - to convert it back to roadcar spec (which you would have to do to maximise your investment) would cost money - you would need to sort that damage for starters and remove all traces of it having ever been a trackday special.

I agree. This is the problem. If it was clearly either of them I'd be saying £10k. If it was clearly one of them and had no accident damage I'd be saying £12k.
