Getting ready to move on from the 944...
Discussion
Morning all,
I am selling my soul and marrying my girlfriend in Baltimore at the end of the year, which means that the 944 will be appearing in the classifieds over the summer, and that I will look to buy a LHD porker when I get over there...
Two questions then:
1)I want to tidy up a couple of details on the 944 before I sell it - its a clean, stock, 1991 Turbo with 85k and a FPSH, so as such it will be in the "upper echelon" of 944 prices, whatever that should mean. I want to sort out the (I have no idea what the official term is) plastic trays on the underside of the front wings - behind the front wheels. On my car they are not sealed to the wing itself, I am told this is normal, but on both sides they now pivot so that they are not exactly flush to the bottom of the panelwork. Consequently they are creating the first spots of rust on the vehicle, need clearing out regularly, and the eye gets drawn to them on close inspection. Where/how do I sort this? I am in Manchester, the car is maintained by Hartech, but they don't do "bodywork", and I can't find anyone who does???
2) I am faced with the prospect of finding a US spec car for next year - probably a NA 993. Does anyone know of any pitfalls I should avoid on US market cars in general? Obviously, my pounds flex some serious muscle over there right now... but I know that each market has its own distinctive features. Are then any US only/non EU models that you have always wished they offered here for some reason that I should particularly look out for???
Wish me luck,
Ash
