I'd like to get a phone kit for my 964 when I collect it.

As it's a cab I'd just like to canvas opionions on what people use with the roof down, BT headset or fitted kit - the last time I had a soft top car mobiles hadn't been invented.... hehe

Canvass opinion, soft top. Stop it you're killing me smile

Try a radio with bluetooth. Seems like the ideal way forward these days.

A bluetooth radio is probably only worth it if you need a new radio anyway.

A well fitted car kit with the microphone in the right place should work just fine. The mic should work well on top of the steering column (thereby avoiding much of the wind noise) or somewhere similar. Antenna should be a very thin strip that sticks to the inside of the windscreen, but if you want really good reception then get one that fits inside the front bumper (more expense & time though). ARAIK you need to have a cradle of some kind to hold your phone to comply with the law, even if it connects via bluetooth to the handsfree kit.

Thanks - I've got BT (Parrot) in the BMW and it uses the phone aerial rather than from the kit so no issues there.

Hadn't thought about the steering column - good call.

I've got an old nokia CK-7W (I think?) BT kit at home so I might fit that.
