The options list is, well, confusing. I can't decide what to spec. What are the must have's?

Iam having Xenons,(cant believe you have to pay for these). Ceramic brakes, and Orange or Green paint. Not sure what else to have , if anything.

Depends a bit on your intended use, (and how deep your pockets are wink) IMO:

- Xenons (not essential but most people want them)

- Cruise (very useful these days)

- PCM (surprisingly good and very handy)

- PCCBs, (awesome, and most RSs seem to have them)

- Perhaps a bit of colour coding?

I dont think the price really comes into it when you are buying a car of this price, but then I havnt seen all the options yet, sorry but cant imagine why you would want cruise on an RS, surely its flat out or stopped laugh

Cruise is brilliant, use it all the time on m-ways and going through speed limits (like an F1 car in the pits wink.

At the Millbrook hi-speed bowl, you can put the GT3's cruise on in the top lane, take your feet off the pedals and hands off the wheel and the car will circulate all day at 100mph without a driver. Great trick.

Sorry, got it on my Touareg, only use it on Motorway speed limits. It slows you down on the downhill sections, and floors the throttle on steep hills, makes for rubbish fuel consumption.

Usefull for towing a caravan I guess.

Def wouldnt want it on this car

theres no 'must haves', but for comfort id agree and get the xenons. some of the carbon trim packages look good, and pcm is surprisingly useful.

for comfort maybe would be looking at a GT3 instead?

I deliberated for some time over PCM as although I didn't want it I felt it may be important come resale.

However in the end I didn't go for it as I prefer the more basic look with no TV screen.

As for other things I went for Green with coloured rear consol, and thats it.

I'm still not totally convinced about PCCB and Porsches attitude over the warranty claims helped me decide against them.

Dont start me wondering about pccb again, I made my mind up to have them even though you could buy a budget hatch for the same money.

Have you had warranty issues ? I figured if I had to replace it wouldnt be the end of the world as I would fit them myself.

Its the weight saving that appeals to me most, no corrosion when the car is parked up in the winter and no dust.

As an owner with them all ready what is the truth.? Also how cool is the green, Iam so tempted.

The green is cool in case you haven't found the tic box for orange that is...

My Car is due next month so not much longer to wait.

I've not had PCCB's myself so I'm not the best qualified to advise but, we've heard the storys about Porsche putting failures down to misuse and changing their mind on longevity. Also will they retain the extra £5/6k value.

For me I'm more than happy getting the car with steel brakes.

You're criticising someone for wanting to use one of these fabulous cars as much as possible?! Sounds a sound idea to me.smile
