Boxster 987S Roof struts broken - common fault??

A mate of mine has a boxster S (987) and both struts on the roof have sheared - unfortunately its out of OPC warranty (yes I know - and I think he knows too). However this shouldnt break after 2 years - I said he should write to Porsche UK, since this cant be normal wear and tear!!!!
Has anyone has similar experiences???

I've never heard of that before.

In year three, PCGB should be reasonably sympathetic towards certain warranty issues. If it is OPC supplied and maintained, with no signs of neglect/accident damage, he should ask them to replace them under the 'goodwill' warranty.

Be firm but friendly.
