Do 993 heat exchangers fit a 964? Where to get some from?
Discussion
Apparently 993 heat exchangers fit a 964, is this true?
I only ask as also apparently they are a slightly more efficient design, and one of my 964 heat exchangers has rotted out.
I am now in a dilemma as I need to buy a 964 one anyway (found an excellent used one for £50) but as one needs changing it makes sense to upgrade if it is possible/economical to do so. Mating up the exhaust doesn't bother me it is whether they will fit the block. Also where is the best place to get a cheapish pair from? Anyone have a pair they are tripping over?
I will emphasise this has come at the wrong time as over the past couple of weeks I have had a few things go wrong with the car, I am of course also brassic, and had a few other probs, So I was going to weld it up to do for a few months but the metal is like paper it's junk sadly.

I think you can fit 993 headers, but the the header to cylinder head attachment studs are 90 degrees out on one side, so you need to rotate the flange on the header. More info on Rennlist here http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.p...
