offset's all wrong - Fuchs wheels won't work on cars set up for ABS, whether 944 or 911/964

Seen plenty of pics and does not look as bad as you might imagine. Try the pelicanparts.com 911 forum, someone is having brand new fuchs made in 17 inch with correct offsets etc, also look at lindseyracing.com who take the original fuchs centre and weld new rims to make a 17 inch wheel.

The Fuchs wheels were pretty expensive to manufacture, and for a long time were not that trendy: Few merchant bankers understood that they are amongst the lightest OEM wheels ever made (other than the 914/964RS magnesium specials, I think they were the lightest for their size).

Porsche became a marketing rather than an engineering driven company, and lots of various cost effective wheels with marketsleaze names made more sense to them than technologically superior expensive Fuchses. Fuchs wheels are now mostly on Boeings and Airbuses, not SUVs.

What a great insight!

The only thing i hate about Porsches (modern ones) are the "merchant Banker" types that drive them, few "enthusiast" type drivers have them and so forth have given Porsche a bit of a bad name frown

Fuch's are cool, Merchant Banker's aren't lol!
