Worth renewing the extended warranty on 996??

...my car's ('99, C4, 64k miles) 'approved used car warranty' expires in a week.

The cost to renew it for another year is £900!!! Is this worth doing in the opinions of all you wise and knowledgeable folk out there?

Just concerned that a major problem could be VERY expensive, given age of car, but then Porsche may try to wriggle out of a variety of warranty claims - so it's a risk either way.

I would be tempted. The C4s are more complicated and your 996 is an earlier model. That said, it is a close call. Maybe putting 900 GBP under the bed in an envelope marked '996 breakers and independent specialist in case of emergency' would have a similarly calming effect.

I'd be tempted to wing it and save the cash. If you manage two years without a major failiure you'll have 2k anyway.
