My shiny 3 month old C2S has developed a rattle. It would appear to come from the passenger seat. When I drive along (on most roads around London/motorway) it makes a rather irritating rattle. If I hold the seat whilst driving it appears to go. I dont often have a passenger in the seat, which I guess would be one remedy. Anyone else had a similar problem? Not a biggie I know but I dont like my ride ruined by this niggling noise....

Dunno about a 997 but my 996 had the same problem-it was coming from a loose cover on the height adjustment lever on the passenger side-a blob of blu-tack cured it!

Not sure if this helps but in my C4S with sports seats the seat belt buckle sits almost on the tilt leaver and always rattles. Have now twisted belt so the buckle now sits inwards easy cure and cheaper than an expensive lady passenger!

Ah. It's happened to someone else. I just thought it was mine. Mine rattled like a machine gun and after a few weeks of trying allsorts to no avail, it turned out that the car (993 C2S) I'd bought from so-called reputable independent dealer had one totally knackered rear damper and another that was way past its best. They're now replaced and no matter how bumpy the road - no rattling. Try bouncing the rear wings. If there's too much `give', yours might be the same.

Go and get it looked at as it should not rattle. I had a similar problem but it turned out to be loose change in the cig lighter compartment.

Mine had that as well. Issue was movement of the backrest. Once I set the backrest at a in an upright position the rattle was gone. HTH

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll try them all out this weekend. It looks like a good Saturday to be out in a 911.

My turbo was plagued by a little "clink" when you turned left, and another little "clink" when you turned right again coming from the driver's seat, like loose washer in the seatbelt bolt or something. It was getting right on my tits for ages and I couldn't find it until I gave the car a good hoover the week before I sold it, and I found a 20p in the slide rail.
