Hi,

I'm just wondering whether anyone knows the best time change gear in each gear to achieve maxmium acceleration on a 2003 C4S...

I looked at the tables at the back of the manual but they seem to be counter-intuitive. Should I just redline in every gear?

Cheers

Ideally at the point where the engine, at the higher revs in the lower gear, is developing the same power as it would at the lower revs in the higher gear. This point will occur at different revs for the different gear changes.

In practice - since power curves typically drop quite gently for the first 500 or so revs after peak power - you run into the red line before you reach the above point.

So change at the red line smile
