My questions would be:

Does the ECU on a 996 change the timing sufficiently to take advantage.
Is it worth switching from Vpower to this - considering it is mooted to cost £2.50 a litre!

Yes I think your 996 would benefit from it but IMO the power to cost ratio is too low compared to vpower.

Maybe use it now again or for a track day?

Available from the petrol station oppersite Aston Martin in Newport Pagnell, and it's £2.45 per litre, and the nice lady there tells me that only customer is A.M. and those going to Santa Pod who know it's there and can stand the cost, they have a warning sticker on the pump stating the cost before you use it
