Ignition switch removal '72

I've done the easy bit..removed bevel and elec plug and drilled out the shear bolts.

But it only moves about 1/4 inch.....it is connectted in some way to the steering column for the steering lock.

Has anyone done this?
Does anyone have a picture?
Does anyone know how it is attatched to the steering column?

I also have dealer installed air which does not help!
