OH NO - PROBLEM..........

We might be about to find out whether the warranty is really any good....
48k service with new belt tensioners 3k ago.
Today on starting there is a moaning noise which rises and falls with engine revs - sounds like a washing machine on its last legs. It's there when not moving, and also whether the car is in gear or not.
No warning lights and ammeter/oil pressure are fine.
So I have shut it off and called out Porsche Assist for tonight.
Any ideas anyone??! Gearbox? Oil pump? Faulty (new) belt tensioners?

As you've been a very vocal advocate of OPC warranties I'm very interested to see where this one goes!
Sorry for your news though....
I had this in my 996C4, the noise was like a really bad whine/grind, the sort where people stare when you drive past, OPC replaced alternator, water pump, belts etc etc, never really fixed it, then months later it started to disappear, never found out what it was, but it lasted for over 6 months...

might be a long shot but....is it a breakdown of suppression on the electrics which is coming thru the speakers? it happened on my car ...a rise and fall of noise which coincided with the revs. (ie independant of speed), just a thought....
Good shout but it sounds very mechanical. My shot is it's a pump giving up the ghost or it's someting do do with the new belit tensioners fitted under warranty a few weeks ago.
