Hi

I have a '97 model 2.5 left hand drive boxster manual with alarm.

Recently I noticed that the central locking would operate 3 complete phases (of on / off) when entering the car and today actually twice whilst driving. The red light on the central locking switch is actiavted.

Also, and I think related, the drivers door window does not drop when operating either inside or outside door releases.

This started while I had the hard top in place, but today thinking that it might be the roof microswitch, I took it off and now only have the cabriolet but the problem persists.

The passenger door release microswitches operate the passenger window drop fine.

I am thinking either a faulty central locking switch somewhere (console?) or one of the door microswitches.

Any ideas before I fork out?

Cheers
Mat

Hello

Check underneath the passanger seat for water ingress as this is where the alarm unit lives and can flood with water...
Also door locks are prone for failing on 996/boxsters.

If this fails get it into a porsche specialist in your area and they will get to the bottom of it.
