Having trouble finding a make and type of tyres for my CS that are N rated
sizes are 225 45 17 fronts and 255 40 17 rears.
Seems that Michelin have discountinued them.
Most suppliers seem to be scratching their heads what tyres are N rated
Confused

This is the UK Porsche 968 tyre forum:

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's are most popular. I've got Dunlop SSR's on my track wheels and Toyo Proxes TR-1s on the road ones. Not sure if they're N rated though. And a lot of people stick 245s on the rear, as 255s are harder to come by and a consequently more expensive.

Never bothered with N rated tyres on mine.

As mentioned Goodyears are excellent as are Toyos. Some owners have had problems with grip on Conti (even when new) so you may want to stay away from these.

For road use Falkens are great - about £360 a set fitted, there is a Michelin Pilot that also comes in the correct size - neither of these are N-marked though.

There have been lengthy discussions here about N-marked tyres - so you could search for that if having an N on your tyre really matters to you.

I used Michelin Pilot Sports all-round on my 968CS - N rated for a Boxster but not the 968. I imagine that nowadays Porsche have better things to do than homogulate tyres for 15 year old cars. I did have a discussion with a Michelin rep about this (he wanted me to buy the old MXX3(?)) but when I asked him for one reason why their latest state-of-the-art hi-performance car tyre wasn't suitable for a 968 he went very quiet.

On the 968, they were quiet, & gripped superbly wet and dry. BTW the insurance company were fine, so long as the tyre speed rating matched or exceeded the original's.

Many thanks for the help and advice.
Talked to my insurance company, and they said the same about as long as they have the same rating or higher.
They did ask for me to inform them which ones I have fitted, just to keep things lagit.
Anyone else out there looking for new tyres, don't be conned by the tyre fitters saying that they will only fit N rated tyres.
