Hi ,

I've been thinking of chopping my current 05 997s manual for perhaps a late 06 like for like.

From what I can see, there are not many out there with spec'ed with blk lthr, multi-func s/wheel, Bose, h/seats.

Is it me or are they thin on the ground?

Yeah - why chop for the same car and spec, but with a different number plate?

Why not just set fire to your money - at least that way it will keep you warm........

Here's one reasoning: I picked it up for reasonable money 12 mnths ago. The hit is not too bad if I sell now, assuming the lower end of the spread. If I buy another now, and keep that for another 12mnths, I'll have enjoyed ownership without having taken as much depreciation as I would have if I had run the same motor over the 2 yrs. I wonder if that makes sense outside my own head?

Well it's your money, and you've every right to spend it how you see fit. I just think that you won't really gain much, and if you kept your car for another year or so then your next move might be into a Turbo or GT3 if that appeals....???

Cheers

Any hit, is a bad hit, if all you are doing is getting a different number plate. If it was pre to post face lift, i could understand, but this really sounds like chucking money away
