mate - I don't mean to be a dick about it, but how does he get along with the rest of the car???
I laugh when I see the US-spec GT3RS...... no cage, no buckets, no plastic window..it's barely an RS...and your man want's out of these seats which the US guys are clambering over themselves to buy from Porsche Motorsport (for some $10,000)!
You'll get an INSTANT swap deal on www.rennlist.com or www.6speedonline.com

I presume he's just too big for them in which case I understand.... just a thought but perhaps he should bolt the larger 996RS buckets instead of boggo 997 standard ones???

regards

Nik.

We don't allow adverts on the forum, but with this swap deal looking very much in favour of a PHer, we'll leave it up.

Nick.. I have standard sports seats in my 997 GT3, I use a G-Lock for extra cornering "hold" & it is an awesome combination, far better for daily use IMO!

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a G-Lock?

CG Lock. Its basically a small clamp you attach to the seat belt and it locks the lap belt in place to hold you in the seat while on track or when 'making progress' on a twisty road.

Not as good as harnesses but a significant improvement over a standard 3 point inertia belt.

I've never tried one but when taking 996s or Boxsters on track I have always tilted the backrest back, pulled the seatbelt sharply to "lock" it and then moved the backrest forward - thereby making it difficult to release the lock and holding me in tightly - both lap & diagonal. I would have thought this is more effective than just locking the lapbelt? Can only really be done in cars with electric or "wind up" backrests.
