Suggestions on clutch install in Europe?
Discussion
Subject line says it all. Don't mind driving as far as Germany if it's going to be done well and at a reasonable price by a Porsche specialist. Besides, it'll give me an excuse to go to the Ring.
Does getting a clutch done at a non-OPC pretty much guarantee that my warranty will be voided?
Any ideas?
TIA

At the risk of being blasted down in flames, whats wrong with anyone here doing the clutch??
Porsche warranty - indeed any warranty - can only stipulate that a vehicle is serviced to the manufacturers specifications using original parts, not that it has to be serviced by a particular centre etc.
Can you tie up the clutch job within any maintenance? If the car is due a 24k you can get the plugs and other bits pretty much fitted for free as the engine should be removed for the clutch replacement.
(Assuming you have the Turbo in your profile photo, not a 944, for then I would be talking BS ! !)

Well
a) I assume that due to the strong GBP and the fact that everything here is ridiculously overpriced anyway I can get the clutch done for cheaper on the continent.
b) I need to have a hi-HP clutch/LWFW installed, and a shop with the expertise to do it.
I'm open to all suggestions as I don't know of any top-notch P-car tuners here that would be competitive on the install. And yes, I'll also have plugs done, probably a new RMS, and a few other things while the engine is down.
Thanks

I'm an OPC staffer so know the costs of such a job!!
Parr do the PCGB VIP Carrera Cup cars and have masses of experience with uprated parts - I would suggest a Lightweight flywheel on the Turbo might be a mod too far though, the shearing stress of a forced induction motor is much higher than the normally aspirated stuff, but to do it you'd just need the same parts as a clubsport GT3 setup - longer release bearing etc. See what they think. They have a chassis mounted dyno cell too.

They're in Crawley near Gatwick.

In Germany you could try Roland Heidl in Dusseldorf. He built a one off boxster with a 997 engine installed and tuned. also does tuning for 993 turbos and last year had the fastest 997 turbo based on one of his maps. Dusseldorf is only about 80 mins from the ring. He also installed the 450 OEM powerkit on my 993 turbo last year.
