997 standard seats

I have been having physio on my shoulders due mainly to the standard seats in my 997 C2S (i am quite broad in the shoulders and find that the hard plastic shell within the seats dig into my shoulder blades) I eventually got a price form my OPC for the replacement of the standard seats with the sports seats (these have the "wings" on them at shoulder hight). The price quoted was 14000 (and yes there are 3 naughts after the 14). Im shocked and stunned by this price and would like to hear if anybody else has experience of this or are aware of any decent aftermarket seats.
That's ridiculous - I have the same trouble and always spec the sports seats. I had them changed on a Boxster I had a few years ago and it was less than a couple of hundred quid. If you can source the seats, any good bodyshop, car trimmer or garage and replace the seats for you. It sounds like they may have quoted for the adpative sports seats - these are very pricey- standard sports were £300 extra when I specced my 997 in 2005 - can`t see how they get anyewhere to £14k even with OPC labour rates .... madness .. shop around the classifieds and Porsche forums on line .. there is always someone who is swapping their sports seat for Gt3 items etc ..
At that kind of quote i`d just swap the car - after all I wouldn`t be enjoying it in its current spec and that's the priority with a Porsche .. for most anyway
