Having covered around 2k miles with these latest PCCB's I've found them excellent all round, but especially the very noticeable 'bite' they had since new.
Now I recently did a couple of hours private Porsche driving instruction, which involved at one point 2 fairly successsive abrupt stops from 100mph plus, otherwise only light braking.
Since then the brakes seem to have lost that 'bite' they used to have, I'm sure it's not my imagination.
They still work well, disks look fine, and from memory feel more like the car I drove on the Porsche Driving Experience, but definately not the same as they were.
Prior to this heavy braking day I'd say the brakes have had pretty light use.
There are no funny noises or signs of anything amiss that I can see.
Question is why do they now feel different :
1. Has something changed with the pads, ie now glazed, should I remove them to have a look ??
2. Are they only now bedded in properly after the heavy braking, and are now how they should be ??
Any info/feedback appreciated.
Cheers

I 'Think' mine did this, they were very 'bitey' when on road from new, but after a few trackdaysNow I recently did a couple of hours private Porsche driving instruction, which involved at one point 2 fairly successsive abrupt stops from 100mph plus, otherwise only light braking.

they became more 'progressive'.
The Pad is designed to leave a coating on the discs after time, and this is when they
are designed to work best from what i have been told..
Changing the brake fluid to SRF should help give a harder pedal, as you may have boiled you fluid, but this won't change bite..
I have changed to Pagid RS29's which are a harder longer lasting pad designed for lots of track work, they have good initial bite,
and a great feel all they way through, but are the mother of all noisey brakes....

Porsche brakes have always been known to be preogressive, rather the heavily servo'd like Audis and
other german cars, as this gives better feel...
Thanks Glen,
Sounds like a reasonable explanation with hopefully nothing to worry about. You're right they do feel more progressive now so will just have to get used to that, the awesome stopping power is still there which is the main thing.
Will leave the pads for now as they're nice and quiet, and no track jollies planned as yet - although I do feel that's where it really wants to be !!
