Annual Inspection
Discussion
I'll have had my Cayman S for a year on 14th July and having done 8000 miles I wasn't expecting to pay for servicing until next year at the 24 month or 18000 mile stage, although I have to admit I am a bit nervous about such a long interval. I've been topping up the oil as required, though so far it has used less than 500mls.
Now I've received a letter from my OPC (Belfast) telling me my car is due an annual inspection which will take less than an hour and will cost a 'special price' of £123.
As this is my first Porsche I was wondering a) if this is normal; b) what do they do? and c) am I being ripped off?
I meant to check the service booklet last night to see if this is mentioned, or if there is a space for this inspection to be stamped, but I forgot.
Advice, experiences, comments, welcomed.
Cheers

I've had the same letter from Cardiff OPC but they are only charging £99 for my 997S! Dont't think it is worth it as they don't actually do anything other than check fluids in the car, tyres and generally look around the vehicle for damage!
I'm going to use that £99 to have an oil change instead as I think it is more beneficial with my car being a year old and 5K on the clock.

Hi Pete , my 911's always been done at Porsche Belfast , and I think they're one of the better OPC's (say hello to Gavin for me!!)..
However , the inspection is just that , and doesn't even include an oil change . I'm not up to speed on Caymen service intervals, but that's what I'd follow , rather than spending money on a stamp that the car doesn't require..
