window control switches

In general should there be a voltage present anywhere else in a window control circuit, beyond its source of power from fusebox?

just going doing an electrical gremlin hunt, and found 12V apparently heading for a motor
when switch apparently at rest

could someone shed some light, i'd be grateful.

Knowing the car would help. 928s have switched earth for some circuits, may be the case with whatever you're looking at.
