Having already made a tit of myself by asking the OPC where the dipstick is on my recently purchased 996 TT S....I shall now do it again by asking you lot a stupid question!

Is the spoiler on a 996TT automatic (like on a C2 C4 etc)? Mine doesn't move (unless I press the button on the dash)!

Please don't mock me too much! :-)

Also, is there a user manual specific for this car? I have a Carerra manual in the wallet that came with the car, which doesn't reference any of the TT specifics (lack of dipstick, boost guage, spoiler operation etc).

Many Thanks
Peter

Should come up automatically at 75mph and lower at about 30mph I think. I put mine up as soon as I bring it out of the garage and it then stays up until I restart the car.

Mine goes up automatically at 75mph and back down when the speed drops back below 30mph.

You should have a manual that covers the turbo model. Mine covers parts like you mentioned “the boost pressure “ etc

It just means you are a good citizen and are not exceeding the 70mph speed limit biggrin

Spoiler goes up at 75mph and down at 37mph.
If you manually raise the spoiler, say if the car is stood still, it will go down the next time you go over 37mph and then slow down below 37mph again.

You should most certainly have a dedicated 996 Turbo manual.

Are you sure it is not a C2/4 with a body kit? I ask because I find it very very difficult to stay below 75leptons in mine. Spoiler is constantly up! driving

why on earth do you do this? always strikes me as desperately sad when I see 911s cruise by at 30mph with their spoilers up, like a peacock showing off its tail in a trying-way-too-hard kinda way

that button is strictly for cleaning purposes IMVHO

Thanks all for the confirmation on the spoiler. I'll get the OPC to look at it (benefits of Warranty).

MaKSiNG - It's definately not a C2/C4 and I agree that keeping it under 75 is almost impossible. Already praying that the mobile camera I passed in a blur yesterday was pointed at the Honda CBR600 that was trying to keep up with me!

I asked OPC about the user manual and they said that the Carrera one was correct! I have a Turbo Direct Entry guide, but the full Driver's Manual has 911 Carrera on the front. Are the OPC wrong?

I think OPC are wrong. My car at least came with a 911 Turbo manual with a 911 Turbo picture on the front. Although mine is not an S but a regular Turbo.

You should be able to buy one from OPC anyway for about £15.

Because I can!

If I had an RS4 or a Boxster, I would never think a 911 cruising by was sad. No matter what. IMVHO of course. biggrin

Judging by how long I had to wait for my TT manual, because the manuals are 'on back order in Germany', £15 may well get you one, but three months hence......
