Cupholders for a 911?

Does anyone know if it is possible to retro-fit the pop-out cupholder on the post-2001 model 911 996's to a 2000 model?

I don't know if the airvent above is a different size as the earlier model just has a trim plate at the front.
Has anyone tried this or are there any other solutions if you want somewhere safe for a drink?

I believe you'll find em on e-bay from time to time .. Pity , I just sold my '99 with the original clip on holders , and the buyer wasn't really interested in em at all..

Btw , They clip onto those little holes above and below the extreme right and left face vents.... Bet you always wondered what they were for ...

Yes, I saw someone selling those on Ebay.

Are they seriously any good though? Don't look particularly well secured for putting a hot coffee in.

Just sold mine on e bay for £40.00.They were shit and would fall apart in your hand when you fold them up.Thats why Porsche do not make them now!

Just seen someone on ebay selling a centre console from the facelift, with the cupholder intact. Might just buy this and swap it over.

The clip on's work perfectly ... No matter how hot the coffee!!

You'd be better off getting some expert advise before you spend cash on that centre console , chances are it won't fit right and will look like sh1t..

The slide out, dash-integrated cup holder does not retrofit to the pre-2001 model. I know because I have a new one bought off Fleabay in my cupboard with the aim of doing just that. I am resigned to using the ones that fit in the airvents, which frankly do the job. If you're in the market for a dash-integrated holder, make me an offer. Ballcocks spot on.
