Hello folks,

I've decided to push to boat out and purchase a 911 C2 manual. I'm budgetting approximately £25k and hoping to get something around the 98-2000 mark. I'm confident in terms of spotting cosmetic damage ie bodywork repairs et al but less so on the mechanical side of things. Is there anything I need to particularly keep my eyes peeled for or are they fairly bomb proof?

Cheers in advance,
Phil.

Have a look at this thread for an idea of reliability:

Get an extended OPC warranty and then there really isn't much to worry about. I think you can renew this up to 9 years or 100k. I loved my C2, the only issues I had were a cracked header tank, which I replaced myself for about £150 and it needed the RMS changing, which I left until it needed a clutch.

Search out the newest you can afford.

Get a 111 point check done on it at your local shirt lifters' (Porsche centre to you sah) before you buy.

Then use offending items (if any) that come up in the check to beat the sellers price down.

Once the bits are remedied (or if nothings needed) , get the Porsche warranty , and enjoy completely bullet proof motoring wink .
