I see there's a couple on eBay and one at Reading, but they (and all the others I've seen) all seem to have seats like the "sports" ones in my previous turbo, or recaro ones but clad in leather.

Am I alone in thinking the ONLY seats for a GT2 are the nomex ones I have. That car just seems to look head and shoulders above any others I've seen, and the light look/feel seems correct for these cars

It makes a change usually no sooner will I buy a car than I see others with previously unknown options fitted that are more desirable.

What's the mix of seats amongst GT2 owners here?

ETA: I'm assuming these seats are also fitted to GT3s only with fewer/thinner bolts holding them in, lol.

Standard GT2's came from the factory with a leather-lined one piece Recaro Bucket, however Porsche offered the standard leather electric Sport Seat as a no-cost option which many customers would choose.

It was only the Clubsport package which offered the Nomex covered Recaro's, along with six-point racing harness, a bolt-in rear cage with the front section supplied seperately, fire extinguisher and battery cut off switch.

Not sure of the exact no's but only a very few percentage of Clubsport's left the factory.

I've got leather buckets which I prefer to Nomex, although I think Nomex is nicer in a 996 RS.

Leather adjustable in mine - chosen because they more comfortable for long distance driving.

I've done ~150 mile trips with the nomex and they're totally comfortable to me. Mind you I've never tried the leather ones.

I have leather comfort seats as mine is used just as a road car
We did some long stints to Naples recently from the UK
and the other half did not complain once

now travelling in the 996 GT3 RS was a different story !!!!

Only 10% of UK GT2s were Clubsports and therefore supplied with Nomex buckets.

Were there any race spec GT2's sold or RS versions i.e. track ready, or just the road versions and clubsports

No RS versions. There are various people around the world who have based cars as GT2RS, but none officially exist.

FYR I personally imported two RHD/UK spec GT2's both in Clubsport spec ~ one silver, one black. Mine has leather sports ~ can't see over the dash with those bucket jobbies!

Clubsport with Nomex here.

"Somebody" told me that there were less than 20 of the 120 or so UK GT2s in clubsport spec ex factory. Not sure how true that is. Anyone know whether that is the case?

I am firmly in the Nomex camp its just "fitting" for the beast but then mine (W8DOW) is a club sport and would look odd in other seat guise

I asked Porsche GB and was told that there were only 8 UK clubsports which seems a little low - their numbers always seem to jump around a fair bit
