Going to book my mk1 gt3 in at par for the stage one geo set up as it seems to have quite a following! Can someone tell me what components are altered/replaced and what sort of geo you end up with ie camber/caster? also whos had it done and what affect has it had?

thanks

I believe it is a ride height adjustment, corner weighted and small increase in camber front and back (which uses shims inserted into the mounts - helping to provide wheel arch clearance)

The stage 1 setup isn't that extreme but you will notice the difference if you use the car on track as it gets rid of the understeer and improves the turn in and balance of the car.

These Parr suspension set-ups were done initially on my Cobalt Blue Mk1 GT3 Clubsport. The stage one was primarily for fast road use. As you go through the stages the set-up becomes more track focused and less road friendly. The most extreme set-up was still OK on good road surfaces and we actually drove across France to Dijon race circuit for a track day and then down to Magny-Cours for another day on track. Back home up the Atlantic coast route to avoid Paris and home. Great fun and on the decent roads in France no great hardship.

Parr will listen to you and tweek the settings according to your own requirements. Remember that the GT3 is also very sensitive to tyre pressures and just 2 or 3 psi can make a noticeable difference to the way the car handles.

Best mechanical grip is still the Michelin Cup Tyre but the Pirelli Corsa and Toyo 888's are a cheaper option and don't fall to short of the grip of the Cup tyres.

Lots of fun to be had from these cars. I owned mine for five and a half years before changing it. Now playing with a 997 GT3 RS....well we like to punish ourselves....
