Having just lost a set of alloys from one of my cars, I am going to upgrade the locking wheel nuts on all vehicles. Question: is it worth making each nut on each wheel a locking one (i.e., buying 4/5 sets) rather than just a single lock per wheel?

You'd have to carry around a pretty impressive set of specific tool heads for when wheel change time came around!

Better that than finding it up on bricks like one of my cars was this morning (well, rocks not bricks, God knows what condition the car's in now...)

Yours is a valid point. But to be honest IMHO one locking wheel nut should be sufficient.

Can't see a problem in putting a set on each wheel. I.e. one locking nut per wheel.

However, I would be interested to know what type of lockers you had on the wheels that got pinched? The early BMW/Porsche type that had a locking cover over a standard wheel bolt/nut (with a conventional key to remove) were very easy to just knock off - I only know from having cars with the key missing.

I would have thought the Porsche bolts (as per 996/Boxster and probably still current) are quite secure as the "key" fits over the bolt. BMW however use a "male" key and "female" bolt, making it easier to force something into the bolt head (such as a square drive socket extension bar perhaps) which may hold sufficiently to undo said bolt.
