Its nearly Saturday...wooohooo.
Off to pick up my first ever porker tomorrow, from Paragon, followed by a 210 mile cruise home.

Ive had a couple of things done to it.
Revo Technic upgrade
Underskirts colour coded
a new front splitter to make it a bit more individual.

Comments anybody?
Go easy on me.

Enjoy the car, you`ll remember the drive for ever. I can still remember my first ever 911 and the feeling I got from driving it home. You`ll then get the bucket out, give it a wash and a leather off, make yourself a cup of tea and stare at it for ages smile

Have fun.

Congrats.

The aerokit rear wing would look stunning and give the front spoiler some balance.... boxedin

Agreed, sort of. I think the GT2 droopy spoiler would suit it better as the ends of it would compliment the upturn on the splitter.

time to pass the hat around

it looks great chum very well done and best wishes

on your long journey preplan the route as you will need to know where the fuel stations are.

for a supercar the fuel consumption in the tt is good but still frightening when the turbos are spooling yikes

as a pervious poster said, enjoy the drive, get it home give it a through wash and clean inside and out then take a load of pics to post on here thumbup

Very very nice. I've had mine about 2 months now and haven't stopped smiling. I still find it hard to believe it's mine even when it's sat on my driveway! biggrin

Out of interest, why the Revo upgrade prior to picking it up? I'm thinking about one too, but want to try the free trial first just to see if I can justify the expense. Did you try the car with and without before deciding or just dive straight in?

I only test drove it, but it was really a case of having something a bit special.
Paragon told me ( well, i suppose they would) that everyone theyve put the trial on for has come back for the full treatment. In fairness, Paragon did suggest that I could have it done later and wern't at all pushy about it, but I didnt want to trek all the way back down there after tasting the forbidden fruits and then get them taken away.

Besides ive extended the warranty for 3 years and I thought it best to have it modded THEN take out a warranty, then no-one can accuse me of breaking any terms.

Paragon have told me that it now flies and he has insisted on taking me for another test drive in it before I commit, such his is enthusiasm for the mod.

God knows what it would be like with a sports exhaust as well.

The 2 intake slats either side make it look like the X50 aerokit splitter. Cant tell fully cos the side on view hides whats around the corner on the wings.

Ajit.

What's the Paragon warranty like in comparison to the OPC one?

I havn't read all the small print on the warranty, but it's quite good. £5000.00 limit on each claim and unlimited claims.

Alarm bells rang out at 5k but i'm told that it will cover almost any eventuallity and even an engine meltdown will only very slightly exceed it. Also there are ways and meanswhistle

I asked about the old "28k to put a new engine in" and was politely told rubbish. Just scaremongering to get you to buy an OPC warranty. They reckon they can get one delivered in a crate from porsche for a small proportion of that cost.

On a positive note, the engine is still covered even though its been spiced up. Had it not have been for this fact, I may well have gone for a porsche warranty and missed out on the Revo upgrade.

£1104.50 for an extra 2 years warranty over the 12months supplied as standard.

So, I get a 2003 996tt(31k miles), revo upgrade, new splitter paint n fit, 3 under sills removed and painted, GPS speed detector hard wired in (supplied by me), MOT, 110 point check, OPC quality service, and a 3 year warranty for under 60k

Great thought it was just me smile
If you keep it in the garage you'll probably also keep finding excuses to go out there, just for another quick look smilesmile

Let us know how you get on.

The warranty sounds VERY cheap - post the terms up on here and we'll have a look.

New engine is £40k from Porsche, according to Autocar.

Well, ive got my Porker now. What a dream ride home. Keeping to speed limits is harder than giving up sex. I just love it, I still havnt stopped smiling. The Revo upgrade is the dogs danglers. 2nd,3rd & 4th are just expolsive, in fact the 2nd gear experience is waaaay to short, thankfully 3rd is almost as good.

when I get the chance, I will try and post the important bits of the warranty.

Interesting to hear Autocars comments re a replacement engine. I wonder if thats a Plug n Play unit with all the bits attached or just the lump. Perhaps thats where the differences lie.

Ill also take a picture or two of the front spoiler from the front, it looks good and its perfect for scooping up chavved up fiestas. still dont know what it is though, the salesman wasnt sure and the man with the paintbrush had gone home.

I may have a problem with my phone module, not sure yet. It accepts a sim but it cant find a network. I'm wondering if, when they wired my gps speed camera unit in, they pulled the phone aerial.
I dont fancy a 450 mile round trip if thats the case and I can somehow get to it...suggestions anybody?

Apart from a minor and major service, its had new pads all round,2 new front discs and rear discs lightly skimmed just to even things up and also a new battery. just to round things off nicely £50 of petrol in the tank, enough to get me home.
