Hi
My 911 C2s does not have the on board computer for fuel, range and all that (which my previous car a Mk1 GTi cab did and it worked kind of!) is there a way to retro fit this properly and cheaply?

thanks
Jon

You`ll have to specify the exact model, but I suspect the short answer is going to be no, there isn`t a cheap / easy way to install it I`m afraid.

The short anwer is yes - all 986/996 onwards have the OBC built-in, its pretty much a case of fitting the control stalks and doing a small piece of wiring - I did this on my Mk1 GT3 and you wouldn't know it wasn't from the factory.

see here: http://www.whiteson.org/boxster/mods/obc/

Thanks Greg
did you need to get it switched on so to speak by OPC or the like, or just add the wiring as shown on the link?

Yes, you need co-operation of the OPC - mine did it gratis as its literally a 2 minute operation, just tell them you'd like to see the outside temperature displayed (which is the default function you get before installing the switch/stalk).

Give Wrightune a call:

http://www.wrightune.co.uk/

They do retrofit for £100. They can also fit cruise control. I have used them for servicing in the past and found the level of service to be excellent!
