Still looking for a 996 believe it or not(the amount of dodgy ones out there is scary) and the latest car i have looked at has had a new engine & Clutch fitted, Dealers Words - "car had major engine failure at 29000 miles-porsche fitted complete new engine(inc starter motor, alternater, injection system, throttle body etc)under warranty-new clutch fitted at same time-so car has 2 year porsche warranty on engine and clutch"

Question is - Is this a good buy because it has 2 year OPC warranty on engine & a new clutch fitted or is a car having a new engine looked down on?

P.S. Would this also mean that i do not need to get an £895 warranty put on the car or should i for what may be viewed as non-engine problems like the radiators which seem to have been changed on every C4S & TT i have looked at??

HI
I would have thought this is a great buy. The dealer has been up front with you and a 2 Year warranty is great. Plus the all the ancileries being new makes it even better provided the price is right.
Bob.

Just make sure all the paperwork confirms what has been done.

Agree - sounds like an excellent buy if the price is right. Just check with the OPC that did the work that the warrantee is valid and transferrable.

I have a warrantee on mine, and just had a rad replaced under it. Even though the car you're thinking about has a new engine, doesn't mean you should skip a PPI though.
