Well got to say the 997 2s is truly a great europe muncherbow.
Left Manchester on Friday evening with my son in the co-pilot seat, got into Assen for the Moto gp at 4.00 am Sat Morning. We then left Sunday for the drive down to Berlin to see Genesis..I must say hitting 175 mph and still having oodles left was a real thrillbiggrin, this was just a brief trip upto the big speeds because my lad was in the car also.
I kept her at a steady 130 mph and the car just got better and better..I am left with a slight taste of disapointment now because we are really only getting about 25% of the pleasure of Porsche on U.K. roads most of the time..sad really.
After the show at the Olympic Stadium it was time to do the marathon return leg in one hit..only stopping for fuel and the odd brew/pee, I left Berlin at 11.30 pm Tuesday night and was back in Manchester at 4.00 pm Weds..bloody great run (well upto the U.K. road works etc) the seats were so comfy, no numb bum, all in all a very comfy run home. The strange thing was that in 1950 miles I added 0.4 of a litre of Mobile 1 at Calais on the return leg, the car usualy burns more than that but when driven hard (and it was) it didnt..any thoughts?? So ime guessing she is run in just nice now with 9k showing on the clock..must say though looks like its done the 24 hours at Le Mans...the red is very dark indeed.

I can't touch your speeds but I also did 14hrs in my Boxster last Friday from Geneva to the 'ring and back via Luxembourg (out) and Basel (rtn). The return leg crusing at up to 130mph for long periods in Germany was epic. The Boxster is rock solid at these speeds and wind noise isn't really an issue! I got 31mpg over 1,425kms too. Had a slightly stiff neck the next day but no other ill effects. Cruise control helps save the right ankle, of course.
