Unfortunately I picked up a nasty stonechip on the windscreen of my Cayman S last week.

The insurance company have pointed me to Autoglass who will look at it but say if it's bigget than a 5p coin will need a replacement (because the chip is on the driver side).

My concern is if it does need replacement - are these guys experienced enough to do a ggod job on my pride and joy.

Does anyone have any experiences / recommendations?

It's RAC Autoglass that the OPC uses so they should be ok. However I've heard stories of radio reception not being good if done badly.

oh windscreens... what a pain they are (says the guy that needed 2 new ones in as many months on his 911!)

Generally, the outfits are reasonably professional - they probably will claim they need you to take it to the workshop, but you dont.

If your not sure, watch over them doing it, check carefully afterwards for any damage/mistakes..

Autoglass did a reasonable job on my Boxster 987 last year except .......... only on the third attempt did they order the correct part. Something to do with the wiring.
