Boxster 2, 2001.

Yesterday when driving there was a grinding motorised noise, stopped and checked it out. It was from the fuel cap area. Locked and unlocked the car and it stopped but now when i lock it, not when i unlock it, I get a short high pitched grind/motor noise from the fuel cap area. To me the logical answer is the locking mechanism for the fuel cap is buggered.

Any tips on past experiences welcome before I book it in to be checked out,

Also any tips on changing/suppliers of headlight bulbs would be welcome.

Cheers

Check that fuel flap locking pin guide is in place properly, they have a tendency to become dislodged resulting in the noise you are experiencing.

2nd on that one. It does sound as though the little plastic "plunger" is not lining up with the hole in the filler flap. You lock the car, the plunger can`t go into the hole and it makes a noise (not sure if a solenoid or little gearbox).
