Guys, hate to break it to you but there are only 20 coming into the UK. A very well informed source says that the deposits mean nothing - obviously very few will be honored.
So, the first come, first served attitude I mentioned last week then.
Christ and Porsche wonder why we get pissed off with them sometimes

Dear Sir, please give us some money which we will hold for an indefinate amount of time which we will not tell you until after you have given us your money and then at some indeterminate point in the future we will let you know whether you will or will not get a car and then we will ask you for more money for us to hold for another indeterminate length of time.
I am suprised at this Porsche has made some significant changes, minor innovations on the 911 technology front with this car, I would have thought they could sell 100 units a year in the UK without crushing residuals (assuming it is as good as it appears)....so why wouldn't they? 100 makes more sense than 11 cars

Nothing Porsche does makes sense to guys like us any more, viz; building the Cayenne, building the Cayman with a brill chassis and then under-powering it, limiting build on CGT to 1400 cars over 3 years, restricting RHD C16 spec 997 GT2 to 20 cars per year, buying VW, building a 4wd saloon. There used to be a sports car company in England named MG who went down this route and they ended by having their factory in China!

perhaps you can question the idealogy behind the various moves Porsche have made away from pure sports cars, the financial decisions however have been spot on, when were MS ever the most profitable car company in the world? Its a strange comparison. On the GT2 - profits wise there is little difference between buldiung 20 and having people scramble to get one and 50. Maybe they prefer the halo models to stay in strong demand now after thinking that the CGT was too numerous.
Dont forget the Porsche Network !
Guildford,West London,Reading,Tonbridge,Swindon are all owned by one company ( I think )
then there are a few owned by another then the Independent owned OPCs
they are not one company so you tend to get different views
All I was told was that each OPC had to e-mail Porsche HQ then a list is produced
then sent back with the lucky names then a depoist is required to finalise your car
It dont take a genuis to work out that the bigger the OPC the bigger clout they have
