Hello,

I have just bought a 1998 Porsche 996 3.4 and have taken it to my local Porsche dealers (Stratstones in Wilmslow) for a Checkup/service. After talking to other Porsche owners (in London) telling me that main dealers are not very good and should find a local specialist... Therefore my question is: Does anybody know of anywhere in the NorthWest (Altrincham, Cheshire)?

Mike at Sports and Classic is local and will see you right - he's ex-OPC and now has his own business, with his workshop in Mobberley.

He posts on here from time to time too.

Just clicked that link and it looks like his website is currently down, pending a refurb. The contact details are still there though.

You're luckily also very close to Hartech, who can set you up with a very good servicing scheme that covers all labour for breakdowns too - see http://www.hartech.org

Another vote for Mike at sportsandclassic. Done a few bits and pieces for my '99 3.4 996 and he is very knowledgable and really good rates. If you look through many of his postings on here, he more often than not gets the diagnosis of any problems right just from very basic descriptions.
