... my dashboard that is, specifically the centre LCD 'pod'. The LCD is still working (can see speed etc with sunlight directly behind me) but it appears as though the backlight bulb has gone - anyone got any experience replacing these?

Car is '99 996 C2 by the way.

Cheers,

Chris

Fantastic! Don't even think of rectifying it. "Officer, I would never have broken the speed limit had I known that I was too fast. You see, my dash just got dark..." hehe

Ha ha, the thought had occurred to me (during a spirited run on Saturday morning...) but for the fact that it also has the next-to-useless speedo on the left hand side...

Same thing happened to me, although mine would come on after a few minutes of its own accord.......can't remember the exact diagnosis but was covered under my extended warranty. I was told it also affected the bulbs to light up my numberplates too.

Apparently a common 996 fault.

Thanks, never would have guessed it would be covered by my warranty, will give OPC a buzz.
